HEALING AND RECOVERY
A BETTER TOMORROW
STARTS TODAY
Group work is a highly recognized form of learning and support. It is one of the foundations of our program. Survivors of any kind of traumatic experience healing together in a safe and caring environment do regain their dignity and self-sufficiency at a more progressed rate. As women who share common experiences, they can come to the groups and feel accepted, as well as be accepting of one another. Also, learning together brings a sense of cohesiveness and the ability to satisfy their own need through interaction with other women. All of the groups and classes combine a variety of methods. We utilize audio/visual, outside speakers and art amongst others. We also have celebrations for Women’s History Month and reflections for Domestic Violence and Child Abuse Awareness Months.
ADULT LEARNING
BREAK FREE FROM BONDAGE
Our adult literacy, economic independence programs and life skills are taught in our campus learning center. When a woman achieves independence, she is also increasing her personal safety with the confidence of knowing she can survive on her own without depending on others.
CHILD ENRICHMENT
DREAM BIG & DO MORE
We address the special needs of children who are living with the stress and anxiety of parents and loved ones hurting each other verbally, physically, and emotionally. Healing children affected by family violence is equally as important as helping a mother recover and get back on her feet.
COUNSELING AND MEDICAL SERVICES
IMPROVE HEALTH & FAMILY DYNAMICS
Because our goal is to end the cycle of violence in families, we place intense focus on providing access to psychological and physical health services including: trauma-informed and family counseling, health education and medical services.
AFTERCARE PROGRAM
MAINTAIN INDEPENDENCE
Our Aftercare monthly counseling and educational opportunities provide access to more long-term support. We also extend tangible assistance in the form of clothing, food, and other necessities of life.
