A: Domestic Violence is a pattern of physical and psychological abuse, threats, intimidation, isolation or economic coercion used by one person to exert power and control over another person in the context of a dating, family or household relationship.
Q: Do you house women without children?
A: No, our program is specifically designed for women with children. However, we do take women who are without children but are currently pregnant. If you are not pregnant and do not have children, please call the Chicago DV Hotline (1-877-863-6338) to ask about other recovery options.
Q: Can you provide counseling services to someone who does not live at House of the Good Shepherd?
A: No, our counseling services are only for current or former clients.
Q: Do you offer emergency housing?
A: We cannot provide emergency housing.
